3 Bathroom Trends to Look Out For in 2025

The new year has come and gone! With 2024 over and a 2025 beginning, the same can be said for many bathroom design trends. Several trends that you might have seen in 2024 are likely to end with it, but with the start of 2025 comes new trends that I'm very excited to share with you. In recent years a trending design option for bathrooms you may have noticed is that of minimalism or utilitarianism. As this trend is fading, what I see and expect to see more of in 2025 is a movement away from minimalistic designs to those of personal sanctuaries. With increasing options and accessibility for adding personal touches to your bathroom and self care being as important as ever, it is my opinion that this will lead to bolder designs  when it comes to bathrooms. In this blog post I'm going to go over 3 different bathroom design trends that are coming in 2025.

Tile

Something that has been popular in bathrooms in past years is expressive stone slabs and stone tile for both flooring and walls. While I don't expect this trend to go away entirely as I think it is a great looking design, I do think bolder tile options inspired by vintage looks will increase in popularity this year. Square tiles with deep gloss arranged in geometric patterns as well as mosaic tile designs bring a great sense of charm and timelessness to a bathroom. Sometimes called “Retrospective futurism” this design trend is more than just the shape and arrangement, often with deep bold colors like dark greens, blues, and reds. Personally this is one of my favorite up and coming trends that I would love to see gain more popularity.

Contrasting finishes

As more vibrant and bold color pallets are being used in bathroom designs it should be no surprise that fixtures and finishes follow suit. The way you'll most likely see this trend is in high contrasting materials used for both wall finishes and hardware. Some great finishes that compliment each other well are gold and matte black and red and gold. With this design there’s really no limit to how you choose to employ it. It could be a contrasting wall color with a contrasting vanity color, different metal finishes on your hardware, or all of the above!

LED Lighting

The last but definitely not least bathroom design trend I expect to see in 2025 is lighting, specifically LED and smart lighting. With every passing year LED lighting capabilities get more versatile and affordable. One of the ways you may see this trend being expressed is led lighting under the toe kicks of vanities. Accent LED lights around your mirror or waterproof LED lighting in your shower are also both great ways to accentuate features or create a softer ambience within your bathroom. In any area you may decide to use LED lighting, smart LEDs will allow a level of personalization to match any mood.

From vintage tile designs, contrasting finishes, and LED lighting, 2025 is sure to be a year for the books when it comes to unique and personal bathroom design trends. Your own taste and needs should always be in the forefront when designing a bathroom that’s perfect for you. Contact us today to start the new year with a new bathroom!
